Nikon cameras: the history

Nikon has a long history in the world of photography. From the legendary of the Nikon F up to digital SLR cameras. Although it gets tight competition for example from Canon, Nikon will still bring a camera with a high quality for various segments. 

According to en.wikipedia.org, Kabushiki-gaisha Nikon, also known just as Nikon is a Japanese multinational corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, specializing in optics and imaging products such as cameras, ophthalmic lenses, measurement instruments, camera lens, etc. Nikon's main competitors in camera and lens manufacturing include Sony, Fujifilm, Lumix, Pentax, Olympus, and ofcourse Canon.

Nikon was founded on July 25, 1917 under the name Nihon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushikigaisha or Japan Optical Industries Co., Ltd., and eventually renamed Nikon Corporation in 1988, and is one of the subsidiaries of Mitsubishi. With a very long experience, Nikon is one of the leading cameras and lenses in the world. 

Many professional photographers and amateur photography activity entrust them to Nikon, as well as journalists and investigators at a police station, and other parties that require a lens or camera for certain activities.

Nikon F is the first digital SLR cameras manufactured by Nikon in 1959, and is very popular because it is produced until 1973. Perhaps you've seen the Nikon F in Hollywood movies. After that Nikon launched Nikon F2. Aspects of its design remain in all of Nikon's subsequent SLR cameras, through the current Nikon F6 film and Nikon D4 digital models (which still share its Nikon F-mount for lenses).

Nikon F is the first digital SLR cameras manufactured by Nikon in 1959, and is very popular because it is produced until 1973. Perhaps you've seen the Nikon F in Hollywood movies. 

After that Nikon launched Nikon F2. There is an interesting story about the letter F on the name of this famous camera, in which Nippon Kogaku select "F" because the Japanese are too difficult to pronounce the letter R, as an abbreviation of Reflex. Use of F is long enough tradition of Nikon's camera upscale, until the introduction of he Nikon D1 (digital) cameras decades later. 

Nikon F series is very successful and very popular almost all over the world, and is famous for being used to cover the war in Vietnam by war correspondents. Nikon is also believed by the US space agency, NASA to make cameras and lenses used in space. You can feel how an analog camera, you will definitely get a different experience because you are using celluloid film. Try to hear the sound of the shutter button on the camera such as the Nikon F antiques, then you learn to develop the film in the darkroom.
